Real Saxon cuisine. A recommendation for tourists! Local beers also as a tasting set with different types as well as classic German cuisine! Cozy atmosphere and very friendly service! For tourists who want to enjoy something local in the city center, this restaurant is worth a dinner!

Very cozy restaurant. Great food. Friendly staff. Well located not far from the Frauenkirche. You should reserve a table for dinner.

They wanted to seat us at a table where 5 men were already sitting, although part of the dining room was without an audience. At our request we were allowed to sit there. 3 ADULTS and a toddler. We found it strange. And that with corona.

In our 8 days in Dresden we visited this rustic restaurant twice. I can only recommend making reservations especially on weekends. The staff is super friendly and the dishes are delicious and prepared with attention to detail. Although the restaurant was full, we didn't have to wait long for the drinks or the food. It was a very nice evening and the Freiberg Schankhaus is back on our list when we next visit Dresden

Super nice restaurant in the old town of Dresden, well furnished. Super friendly, polite and helpful staff. The food was delicious, good portion sizes at fair prices. I can only recommend it!

Bad service right from the start: Having just arrived in Dresden on September 16, 2020, we wanted to eat regionally and reserve a table for the evening - only an AB on the phone, pointing out the online reservation. Online information that there is no space available 48 hours before (??) or after the desired date (8 p.m.). So I went there quickly and asked on the spot. We were told we should just come, something should be free at 8 p.m. However, no attempt was made to register our reservation. When we got there shortly after 8 p.m. and asked for a table, they let us stand for a good 5 minutes and then told us that nothing was free. We would have been happy with a table inside, there also seemed to be tables free. Overall, we had the impression that the staff didn't feel like bothering us at all. Fortunately, there are other restaurants in the neighborhood that offer excellent food and, above all, appropriate service.

Here you can get good food and a nice selection of beers from very friendly staff. The food is typical for Dresden with almost exclusively pork on the menu. Well, there is also a fish. We tried potato soup, aspic, and beer goulash, and everything was delicious. Was fun and we'll be back.

It's always nice and we had a nice evening. Not only the nice restaurant staff was the total hit during our visit, but also the great climate. For my part, I can say that nothing has frustrated us until now! Every time it was an explosion of taste in my mouth. My husband and I find the restaurant contemporary for all kinds of occasions, whether with friends, acquaintances or relatives.

Super good food, super nice waiters! A great place from the ambience, really rustic. We hadn't reserved a seat, we had to wait a bit. But it wasn't a problem, we got a seat after about 15 minutes. All in all very recommendable!

Great location inside and out. Eat good. Great service. On Wednesdays the draft beers cost only 3.50 euros. ?

Really tasty food and extremely fast service. Portions are quite fulfilling.

Just delicious. The pork knuckle was a dream. Crunchy, juicy and tender. If you feel like one, this is the right place for you. And yes it was worth every penny. Staff was very nice too. The evening was very fine and delicious. A big compliment to the cook and the service.

Excursion to Dresden. Again a restaurant that is recommended. At the weekend all restaurants are full, you just don't hear anything free. Here one tries to make it possible with a short waiting time if necessary. Very nice service, good home-style food, tasty.

Solid kitchen. Nice ambience, very nice staff and a beautiful setting. The food was good and reasonably priced. I didn't expect anything extraordinary now, just solid cuisine.

Good beer and good food.

Great place??????. Luckily we got a table on the market square on Saturday evening without a reservation and I have to say it was very nice. Our service was friendly and very accommodating. Of course there was also a good selection of different types of beer ????????. The food we ordered was very good in terms of the size of the portions and also great in taste ?. Can just be recommended.

Very delicious German specialties dishes! But unfortunately a service person was rude, so only 3 stars for food. We were with 3 adults and 4 children and ordered 5 different main dishes and that is too little for the red haired waitress. So unfriendly she had tried to cover up the size of the portions so that we could order more. Too bad for the image of the restaurant!

If you are a beer lover and would like to have a special Saxony beer, we recommend Freiberger Schankhaus. The opening hours are also convenient for lunch and dinner, and you can come and dine at a convenient time and the service is friendly. The interior, made of dark wood, makes you feel as if you have entered German daily life, and is a place where you can enjoy German food at reasonable prices. Sometimes there are several cheap beer and food menus, so it may be convenient for travelers. In front of the statue of Augusto II on the square, Beergarten is also equipped, so you can feel Dresden and German in the corona. Personally, the tax I ate wasn't great, but it wasn't salty and delicious.

Very good food, very good service. It's in the tourist area though, so expect the prices to be a bit higher than usual.

Staff did not even look our direction when we came in even though the place was not that crowded. We had to “order ourselves food” rather than the “staff coming to take our order.” But food was fairly delicious

If you are looking for a tavern style place (Wirthaus) this one made good impression on me. Great beer and attitude.

This restaurant has a very authentic German atmosphere. The food is wonderful and they have a huge selection of local beers. I found the service staff to be very helpful and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for Dresden. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

A very nice restaurant. Portions are good, and the selection is traditional. We were a group of 15. Servers were outstanding.

Fast service, good German dish

Incredibly rude staff...... tried to speak what German we could and met with obvious impatience. Told that we could sit on the patio by the bar staff. Then told by the incredibly rude waitress"Patio closed! You have wrong information!" All while surrounded by people who were getting their food and drinks. Perhaps it was because we weren't German I'm not sure. If you're a tourist in Dresden find another place.

Mashed potatoes which came with the Sausage was for sure made straight from powder and the potato pancakes were similarly for sure pre made in a factory somewhere. I didn’t leave the food because I was hungry, but I’m definitely not coming back. Don’t come here if you’re looking for authentic Hausmannkost from Saxony, because for sure is not.

It's A Lovely Restaurant, and I Arrived Quite Late As I'd been around Sightseeing, and I Was Hungry So ordered Food. It Was Amazing, a The Staff were Great and Friendly.

When you visit Dresden for one day, you are tired, hungry and thirsty and simply by coincidence you are somewhere near Neumarkt I would like to advice you to stop at Freiberger Schankhaus. Here you can drink german beer and eat good breakfast or dinner. I was there during my visit in Dresden and without any doubt I can reccomend this place.

Very dry pork meat

There is a waitress who is pierced whole over the face handled tables just except our table. We waited for 30 minutes to order and same long time to get our bill. (I'm not upset about time but the sequence of table order) I just realized we were only Asians around the reatraunt and felt really upset with this restraunt. Please be aware with this nice waitress

The schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) was pure pork nirvana. I especially appreciated that they serve a 1/2 knuckle, which was the perfect amount for me. Oh, and you get two kinds of mustard. They do NOT mess around. The kellerbier was absolutely delicious. Best meal I had on my German vacation.

Delicious and abundant German dishes (pork meat potatoes and cabbage), delicious beers. The restaurant at the edge of the main square, with a nice view of the city, attentive waiters, medium price category.

Nicely located brewpub in the center of town. Lots of people came to eat; I just enjoyed a quick glass of their fine beer.
